PHLster Enigma

A person wearing a PHLster Engima holster with a Sig Sauer P365XL, featuring the text

The PHLster Enigma is a rugged, fight-tested holster system for carrying your firearm without the need for a belt. With unmatched adjustability, you can fine-tune every detail of your setup, making it easy to carry safely and discreetly on any body type, in almost any outfit.

Put it on and position your gun anywhere on the front of your torso in the appendix carry position. Instead of relying on your pants, you’re free to find the most concealed position for your body. But unlike a bellyband, the Enigma works with a secure kydex holster, giving you crisp retention and a fast draw. Its faceplate design provides stability, eliminates bulky holster clips, and gives you the slimmest overall profile.

With the Enigma's wide range of adjustment, forget about buying new holsters every time your waist size changes. Your holster can adjust with you during weight loss, pregnancy, or even just a big lunch. Make micro-adjustments on the fly, or completely change up your appendix carry position. From plus size to petite, the Enigma is made for comfort and concealment.

CARRY WITH CONFIDENCE

PERFORMANCE TESTED

Life comes at you fast. Whether you're fighting for your life against a violent attacker, or just wrestling around with your toddlers before dinner, you need to know your gun will stay securely on your body through any activity.

The Enigma has been thoroughly performance tested. The inner belt keeps your gun anchored securely around your waist, and the leg leash keeps the holster from riding up when you draw.

UPGRADED MATERIALS

All Enigmas sold by PHLster after March 3rd, 2025 come with V2 upgrades.

  • Stronger, more durable faceplate with a textured surface that helps grip clothes.
  • TWO new leg leash options for ultimate customization and comfort.
  • Easy, one-touch leg leash adjustments with our new patented quick-adjust buckles.
  • Softer webbing and skin-friendly materials.

HOW IT WORKS

With its informed design and rugged performance testing, the Enigma is unlike any other beltless gun holster on the market. From jiu jitsu to marathon running to parkour, the Enigma moves with you and ensures your gun stays in a secure, consistent, repeatable spot for a fast draw every time. Explore the design features that make the Enigma unique.

Holster features and adjustments, explaining the Enigma faceplate, buckle, and leg leash.

MATERIALS

The Enigma's faceplate is made from a polymer blend that combines toughness and flexibility. It conforms to the body, yet stays stiff enough to activate the holster's wing for good concealment mechanics. Slimmer than any belt clip or holster attachment, the Enigma faceplate allows for zero signature carry under your clothing.

CUSTOMIZATION

Almost every part of the Enigma is adjustable and customizable. That's why the Enigma works for so many different body types and life activities. You can switch it up and make it your own.

  • Buckle - swaps from right to left side. This accommodates different body types, or extra gear on your belt. It also has two position adjustments that help control optic rotation, or help shorten the overall footprint of the holster.

  • Leg leash - comes with two different options to customize your carry. Wear the single-point leg leash around your upper thigh, with an elastic insert for a forgiving fit. Or wear the two-point leg leash, which fits similarly to a step-in climbing harness. Both come with our new patented quick-adjust buckles, and have been upgraded with softer webbing. See how they work in this video. You can also ditch the leg leash entirely and use a DCC clip instead.

  • Belt - change up the belt webbing in minutes. Or switch to the optional Sport Belt, which adds a comfortable, wide, stretchy back panel - with pockets.

"OS" stands for "open source." That means you can use the Enigma OS with any compatible holster, even if it's from another manufacturer. Just make sure your holster meets all the requirements in the Fit Guide, and you're good to go. (Note that the Enigma OS is NOT for guns with lights or lasers -for that, you'll need the Light Bearing Enigma OS below.)

Light Bearing Enigma Express - holster included

The Light Bearing Enigma Express is for large, duty-sized guns equipped with a Surefire X300 or Streamlight TLR1 weapon-mounted light. While the holster fits a variety of guns, only those two lights are supported. It will not fit any other model of light. (If you have a different light, see the Light Bearing OS below.)

Light Bearing Enigma OS - holster NOT included

The Light Bearing Enigma OS is for guns equipped with a weapon-mounted light or laser. You must provide your own compatible holster. You can use the Light Bearing Enigma OS with any gun or light for which you can find the correct holster. Note: If you have a smaller gun or weapon light, such as a Streamlight TLR7, this is the Enigma for you. Learn how to find a compatible holster here.

ENIGMA V1 vs V2 - What are the differences, and should I upgrade?

If you're happy with your current PHLster Enigma, there's no need to upgrade. The faceplates are identically shaped, and the performance and function are very similar. So there's no need to run out and upgrade unless you really want to. The new version has nicer materials and some added convenience features, but these improvements are minor.

The main advantages of the new version include: more durable faceplate material, more comfortable belt and leg leash webbing, two different leg leash options included, and the leg leashes both have new quick-adjust leg leash buckles. We've done a detailed comparison between the two versions for folks who are wondering if the upgrade is worth it.

Comparison photo of Enigma faceplates: Standard OS. V2 shown on top, V2 on bottom. The faceplates are identical in shape and performance.

The V2 faceplate is made of a more durable material. It has texturing to help keep clothes from slipping, and it has smooth edges that are easy on your hands.

The webbing of the belt and leg leash have been upgraded with softer material. The V2 leg leash has an elastic insert for comfort.

The Single Point is the same form factor as the original Enigma leg leash, but upgraded with softer webbing and a small elastic insert to provide a more forgiving fit. Both options are included with any Enigma sold by PHLster after March 3rd, 2025.

Two new leg leash options shown assembled on the PHLster Enigma. Single point and two point.

Photo showing both leg leash types installed on the holster. The Two Point leg leash (top) attaches in two places: the faceplate in front, and the belt in back. It can be worn looser, and is ideal for active lifestyles. It can also be configured for zero printing in leggings, yoga pants, skirts, and other form-fitting clothes.

The Single Point leg leash (bottom) fits the widest range of body types and sizes. Now upgraded with dual adjustments, making it easy to fit to your body, or change your ride height between outfits.

New Quick-Adjust Buckles

Both of the new leg leash options come with new quick-adjust buckles. They're still the same low-profile, ultra-slim design, but with added convenience and comfort. The buckles also snap together a bit tighter to prevent unintentional opening.

You can now adjust the drop height and thigh circumference separately on the single point leash, making it easy to change your gun's ride height while keeping the thigh circumference the same. The two point leg leash has a simplified version of the same buckle. Simply pull the free end of the webbing to tighten, and the tension bar locks down to hold your adjustment. No more fussing with triglides or knots - our patented new buckles make fitting much easier.
